Harry Potter and the Prisonor of Azkaban by: J.K. Rowling

Harry faces so many problems throughout this book. This is a recurring theme in all the books. He deals with Sirius Black on the loose, school work/activities, and Lord Voldemort is still out there and after Harry. With Harry’s curious personality, its seems impossible for him to be completely safe all of the time.
One problem Harry faced was that a supposedly deranged killer named Sirius Black broke out of Azkaban (the wizard world prision) and was coming to Hogwarts to kill Harry. At the end of this book, you find out that known of this is true and that Sirius is actually really nice. When all of this was happening, Harry also found out that Sirius is his godfather and he is the person that told Voldemort where Harry and his parents were hiding. All of the worry that Harry had now turned into hatred. He repeatedly told Ron and Hermione that he would kill Sirius Black if they crossed paths.
Another problem Harry faced was Hogwarts itself. He had to deal with schoolwork (which is tougher now because he was a 3rd year. Professor Snape and Filch still hate him and accuse him of wondering the halls at night. This year is also Gryffindor’s Quidditch captain Oliver Woods last year at Hogwarts and would do anything to bring home the Quidditch Cup. He ramps up the practice time of the team to everyone dislikes. Harry also has to study for the end of year finals while demanators try to suck out his soul every time he is outside. Demanators are Azkaban guards that have come to Hogwarts to protect the school from Sirius Black.
In conclusion, Harry faces many problems. Voldemort is still out in the world, getting stronger and stronger. Harry is still getting nightmares of him. Meanwhile, Harry is trying to hide from Sirius Black, get all his schoolwork done, and Lord Voldemort could attack him at any moment. That is near impossible to live through. No wonder Harry survived Voldemort’s killing curse when he was little. Only a really strong wizard could accomplish that.

  1. Great post. I like how you chose a theme that wasn't one of the more obvious ones. Good detail and explanations.
